Money from donations has contributed towards the refurbishment of Derwent Ward, a 30 bedded elderly care ward setting the standard for dementia care in the Trust. Architects Hunter and Partners designed the new unit and we were asked to assist the Trust team with furniture and artwork to complete the scheme.

Artist/Illustrator Alan Nagle of Yellowhammer Prints provided the artwork based on the theme of nature for the colourful bedheads.

We were asked to assist in the redesign of two of the older person wards in the Trust with dementia design in mind.

Working with the dedicated and motivated staff we came up with themes for the wards. The male ward had the subject of motoring and we were delighted that the    Brooklands Museum Weybridge provided photos for the colourful bedhead vinyls and coffee area.

For the Female ward Vogue offered illustrations from vintage dress patterns. Each bed bay has an identifying coloured background to the image for bed location recognition.
